Apple releases iOS 8

New-generation Apple software for powering its coveted mobile devices is set for release on Wednesday, two days ahead of the arrival of its latest iPhones

There goes any hopes of streaming tonight. :o

I know you are from the "Plaas" but please keep it English so all of us can understand.

Dankie cozinsky. Se vir daai boer dat sy plaas taal is nie welkom hier nie! Ons praat net Engels hier en verstaan nie 'n woord van sy ingewikkelde taal.

Anyone have the size of the install? (on 3G)

The ipsw is around 2 gigs. I downloaded ipsw's for the iPhone 5/5s and iPad Mini Retina and iPad Air. The smallest was around 1.6gig and the biggest was just over 2 gigs. A pity you are not around Centurion since I could have quickly dowloaded it for you or just given you a copy of one the files I already downloaded.

Lazy me

What's the main new stuff you get with ios8
Not sure about all of them but the one I've been using the most is Hey Siri in the car. From what I understand it's like Ok Google.

EDIT - Continuity is bound to be a big one when OsX 10.10 is released.

Will there be a local mirror that we can download ipsw's from tomorrow?

Hopefully both - iow that they are one and the same.

Doh - didn't read the article and thought from the headline that it's out already. I am running the GM version and the widgets are not there, it looks like Siri is "disabled" and the whole healthkit app does not seem to work at all. Even the fitness tracking apps (such as Endomondo updated last night) say that they sync to healthkit, but they don't on GM.

Also somewhat reluctant to turn on Clouddrive, as I am not sure how this will play out with that Yosemite public beta of mine.

Siri disabled? In what way?

What phone are you using?
