Standard Bank unveils new website

Let us pray it is an improvement on the usability disaster of the last one.

And why do they have to SMS spam me to tell me about the thing? I'll find out soon enough.

Edit. Oh. great. The ONLY thing people use the substandard bank website is to do internet banking or find numbers to complain. They have not done anything to their crap internet banking site, and the contact details are no easier to find than before.

3/10

Edit edit - I really like the small touches: the fact the "select your country" drop down at top right doesn't work in Chrome.. nice work on the testing guys!

2/10

Another edit - and the "search" input has a cross site scripting vulnerability...

This. Very much this.

My confidence in SBSA has been in freefall since about 4 years ago.

They cannot find much more to stuff up...or can they?

And This.

I was even given a number and a name to call at my branch. No answer. And no answer. And no answer.

Here's some pedantic nitpicking:

That 'South Africa' text (which is an image) could be crisper . Just messing with you STDbank...although it was the first thing I noticed.

+1

Ever tried to find the interest rates they pay on deposits - the big banks are hiding those numbers so deep...

Just tested that it works for me. Chrome 36.0.1985.143 m

I am mostly disappointed about this:

The bank pointed out that there have been no changes on online banking. “Everything in your online banking account/s has remained unchanged,” it said.

Don't know about you, but I see constantly money disappearing out of my bank account #broke-oh-so-broke.

This.
And that it's responsive settings are iffy so it scales down really messy. For the cash that STD Bank has, this is real low grade skinning. I know the back end stuff is hardcore, but the front page and especially on mobile devices is your sites first impression.

Extremely happy with Standard Bank's new web site, the Android mobile banking app and Online Banking is still good.

Thank you, Standard Bank, you rock!!

Lmao if you think the new site is bad... you should have seen the afterbirth they had as OS when I worked there.

Cant remember what it was... 2004/5 but it was horrible.

The banking site still reminds me of it.
