Jamming devices worth R200,000 recovered

I don't see what relevance that they're used in hijackings ?

Aren't these radar speed jammers?
 
"Recovered"? I think the journalist meant "seized". Or were the police actually giving the devices back to the original owner?

Good grief, if you're being paid to write then do the job properly, dammit!

Without breaking the trend of humour above :p these "jammers" are a scourge to tracking and recovery devices. Most of them (not all) rely on GSM to communicate with the control centres of the monitoring companies. They are used to block the signal until such time as the critters can find/locate the tracking device in the vehicle.

I wonder why/if these devices shouldn't have peer2peer option too.. Then again it won't once they drive into the bundus and assumes market reach of device.
