Is uncapped broadband really uncapped?

"Uncapped" yes but never truly "unlimited", as in "boundless", "endless" or "immeasurable".

While most of these products offer lots of data for their price, they typically come with a fair use policy (FUP).
Is there a different FUP for Home and Business accounts?
What the FUP for Home accounts fail to state is that you will be shaped during the day which is why most uncapped user are upset.

I am currently on a Business Premium Uncapped account which is actually capped at 200 gigs a month... Huh?

And these guys just keep getting away with this sh11t? How lovely for them :(

Internet in SA, by way of the ISP's delusional and sanctioned propaganda:

Yes definitely. You can download a lot more on business accounts. That's why you pay more.

What?

Home accounts are designed for people that go to work during the day, and get home in the afternoon/evening.

If you need internet during the day uncapped home account isn't really for you.

With day I refer to the time from 5pm until 11pm.
Unfortunately that does not fall within the description of the ISP's day which is from 7am until 12pm.

Well all IS based accounts have lessened shaping after 17:00.

So more of an issue with your particular ISP, rather then all ISPs.

Your "daily" usage?..

I know.. their wording is off.
They send it daily , thus daily stats, but that stats itself is from the beginning of the month..

I just actually wanted to point out the "Cap" section.
My downloads has been quite chilled this month. :)

Uncapped/ unlimited does not exist on Adsl. On fiber maybe

The ASA should force ISP's to disclose the throttle rules eg. "at 120GB your 4Mbps will drop to 0.4Mbps and our contention ratio is 30:1"

This would allow for a more competitive and transparent ISP landscape.

It is difficult for customers to compare and choose a suitable package.
