They tried to buy him off with a iphone 6 (not even a plus, lol) and still wanted him to settle the balance etc? Not surprised he wasn't interested.
 
Reading more into this I don't think the banner guy was in the right. So basically someone using his sim card ran up a bill on another phone and he refused to pay it? Same type of usage stats and I think from reading more comments he ran up the bill and didn't want to pay it. His phone went in and he kept the sim and out it into another phone and then ran up the bill. He says it wasn't him? Sorry don't buy it. However the way cell C handled this was terrible.

A person working at a Lesotho show branch of a SA cellphone company stole my brothers SIM card out of his 3G dongle and ran up a R60 000 bill on calls (my brother was not aware the SIM wasn't in the device for a few weeks, at home he has ADSL and only uses it when on the road sometimes, because the employee had told him it wont work in Lesotho), took a long battle to get it written off (Interpol case lodged for the theft and and and).

But that's not what happened here and they say that the behaviour is the same as when he was using it on the iPhone. I assume same sites visited etc. I think he just didn't want to pay for the usage

You don't spend R60k on a banner just to not pay R5k in fees.

I don't think you read all the articles. What I read said his number was issued to two sims.
 
Why CellC keep ignoring the R5k usage bill, I thought the whole problem revolved around a stranger racking up the bill.

Also find it weird that Vodacom and MTN has not said anything, maybe no one wants Out of Bundle rates coming into the spotlight.

miscommunication to.protect themselves. they will.pay his.legal.fees.and.not.pay for.the.billboard cost. its blackmai we will give.you an.iPhone6 on condition you settle usage (does that mean outstanding invoice.or.the usage of phone or remainder of how.many months were remaining.until contract was coming to an end)

So there is a duplicate sim with the exact same behaviour on the Internet as the guy in question?
So then trace the duplicate sim and check what imei is used with that sim then check all other sims ever used in that phone. You will soon find out what's going on.
Very easy to do. Cell C can also see where the device is. Very simple

Is there any article that states this "same behaviour" story you can refer me to?

If that was the case Cell C could have argued it in court.

You go on and on about how VC is crap but now Cell C can do no wrong?

Vodacom is pretty useless for the money you pay.
When did I say cell C could do no wrong? Please point me to the post.
The way they handled this is pathetic and their current CEO should take all the blame. All of them are bloody useless

Dos Santos fails however to deal with why CellCs approach to the courts could not possibly result in success.
 
Lol, so wtf litigate against your own client. Who the hell made the decision to go down this road? They should be fired!
