Mobile phones over the last 30 years

Nice article. Had 3 of the ones listed. Ah... good memories.

A trip down memory lane.

Hated the Timeport, the list is missing the iconic Motorola v360.

My Dad had the Ericsson GH688. I can remember us driving early that morning from Worcester to go pick up the phone somewhere in Cape Town haha!

The Galaxy SII still a beast though :cry:

I regard the Nokia 9100 communicator from the late 90's as revolutionary!

in 96' I had the Ericsson then moved to the 3310 when it was launched. Both were very good phones.....
It does kinda make you feel old, does it not?..

The phones on that list that I had:

Th GH688 was my first phone. I even had one of those aerials that light up as it catches on signal, start ringing or while you talking :D so tappit

Then I had that 3210 from 2000, first phone really without an external aerial. Had to have it, just because of the amount of aerials I broke off in my jean pant pocket.

Had the 3310 for a while. Who didn't.

Then that 3510i, bliksem. Polyphonic ringtones baby. And I still remember that keyboard was so squishy for some reason.

Damn! The 6600, I had one of the newer ones, think it was 6610, or something. Got stolen after I forgot it in the toilet after a game of snake, or something :D

And then the SII. The android lover's favourite son! Mine died a couple of months ago. I cried. In the shower. For hours on end.

The S5. People say it was disappointing. People have no idea what they talking about. Solid top performed!

You guys missed the Nokia 6310i. 1 week of battery life easy, not to mention its robustness. I still see some in use this day!

this list doesn't feel right without the Nokia 1100 and the Motorola v360 that phone is one tough sob, I bought mine in 2006 and I still have it 2day it works fine and everything with original battery never even fixed it once, battery can still outlast any blackberry battery even after 9 years
loved the v360 an all time great in my book

good old days of the 5210 lol, this list made me remember how many phones I've used, broke, lost and sold over the years lol

I've had a few of the phones on that list like 3510i, E250, Note2 can't believe at first it was the smaller the phone the better but now it's the bigger the phone the better lol, good old days of playing snake on my 3410 for hours on end

Nokia 5110 - Was my first cellular phone.
The 6310 was one of the best I had. Solid and reliable.
Had the 6600 as well, but it got lost :(
LG-KS360 was also a good one, but where it failed at was the complexity of buttons on its front face.

On this list I had the 6600. The other phones I had is quite a list
Nokia 2100
Philips Diga
Motorola T2288
Mitisubishi Trium Geo
Siemens M30
Nokia 5210
Nokia 6600
Sony Ericsson K800i
some Samsung slide phone, can't remember it now only had it for 8 months
Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro
Motorola Defy
Sony Xperia P
Samsung S4

A real trip down memory lane...lacking a few of the true icons in the SA market though..... Nokia 2110 / 2110i, Siemens S3/S3Comfort/S4, see the Motorola Microtac is listed, believe we got the 7500 & 5200 derivatives on VodaCom and MTN. After saying all this, let me go to the dining hall at my old age home for morning tea.... ;)
