Important!: RT @MehmoodHaffejee: Eskom & munics r loadshedding smaller Rand Water pump stations. May cause problems with water supply

/laughs at his stage 3 loadshedding schedule

I haven't been loadshedded once so far from December. I am dead sure it's because I live in the same areas as a few ministers...

Thanks for all the traffic lights not working during peak traffic.

I found it strange that while some areas were load-shedded, the traffic lights were still online in those areas. Battery backups?

Don't think so. I have seen street lights on in Centurion when loadshedding was effective.

On Monday, Eskom said the power grid was under pressure after one of Koeberg’s 900MW units was taken out of service because of a technical fault.

“The unit is expected to be at full capacity by the end of the week. The same unit is due for planned outage on 9 February 2015 and will be returned to service again in May,” the power utility said at the time.

Can the "technical fault" rather be a breakdown due to lack of maintenance again? So the are going to run it for two days and then shut it down again for the planned maintenance?

Sigh. If only Jhb citypower could stick to a schedule.

So much stress we have to endure during traffic.. but luckily every night we get to go on a camping trip in the comfort of our own homes.. Enjoy the gas cooking , torches etc.

Anyone got a soundtrack of crickets in the back ground ?

The solution for the traffic lights will be to go solar, but no, Africa has already killed that idea.

"Theft and vandalism were still a concern for the city with some of the recently upgraded traffic lights being vandalised."
