HiFi Corp ADSL data that doesn't expire

How does this make sense? Even with VOX Fatpipe, which is not the cheapest, 50 GB cost R170. With WebAfrica you can get 60GB anytime plus 240GB after hours for R200. So who will pay R300 at HiFi Corp? The only thing that they have different is that data doesn't expire, but then you can rather get a small capped account from someone else. With the current month to month deals it's also not a problem to upgrade or downgrade.

It's prepaid data that doesn't expire. What's so hard to understand? You composing totally different products. As a backup account it's perfect. Once off cost and available whenever you need it.

Yup... And a hellofa lot of "data" that they sell upfront, is not even going to be used = clean profits that they don't have to pay for on the backend.

Brilliant marketing this.

The small print taketh away.
:wtf: ... see what you mean - definitely not my understanding of "pay as you go":

So why not have a free backup account with someone else that is a lot cheaper? If you need more data you can just increase your cap.

And pay every month for a backup account? Doesn't make sense to me. I want it available when I need it. Once off purchase that is 'in case I need it'. Might never use it so don't want to be paying monthly and losing the data I'm paying for.

Free, as in a 1GB account. That you can upgrade anytime you need it.

But anyway, if this is what you want for a backup that's fine. Just a lot more expensive.

This is yet another scam, much like the previous one where even MyBroadband purchased a SIM card. Nothing is unlimited and there is no such thing as data 'not expiring'.

Whether you are scammed by Piet Poe$ from his mother's house or by Hi-Fi Corp, you are still being scammed.

The company is set to make tens, probably hundreds of millions of Rands the next week or two and then users will find how little data they get and how quickly it 'expires', just before the whole scheme collapses - yet again.

 You really think so

R300 for 50GB. I pay R1800 for 200GB that lasts me a whole year plus I don't pay connection costs. These clowns should come back when they reduced it to something more reasonable like R2/GB.

The key difference is this is powered by is ignite ie internet solutions ("same guys that applied to buy out mweb")directly
