MTN unlimited cloud storage for R99 per month

yeah, and how "unlimited" is their unlimited option?
Like "uncapped" adsl....
 
So can I back up a few TB's worth of entertainment to their cloud servers then?
 
looks like they're using ownCloud - so then there would be desktop apps too.
 
Can you access it via WiFi? I'm asking coz the DSTV mobile streaming is only accessible via the cell network.
 
Probable like there crappy uncapped ..... if you upload more than 1GB we will restrict the upload speeds to 5KB/s. Probable on page 20 of the T & C.
 
If this there isn't any of the negative side-effects noted by other members in the thread then this seems quite nice... would be great for backups.

Now all they need is the ability to ship the a hard-drive once-off to "seed" my backup.

Given the price of mobile data they should make it a free service.
 
To some extent this sounds cool. That's as long as there are no hidden ridiculous Tc and Cs
 
The value of this all depends on the restrictions placed on file sizes and such.

And to upload more than 10mb you have to use MTN data...
 
And then when they have your data up there, then they charge you fees reaching the clouds knowing you will loose out if you don't pay.
