Magnifying vibrations in bridges and buildings

We are currently measuring it with LTVD, which measures on less than micro scale.
 
That is an accurate and cheap way of doing it. The problem is the limited bandwidth. The system described sounds like it can operate in a similar range to a laser vibrometer.
