MTN 808 call centre closed because of strike

Winter of discontent? It's the only way some know how to negotiate.

I wonder how many there is, lately you wait long for them. Telkom mobile answers within a minute.

Next week is my port-away-from-CellC week. Chances of a port to MTN being affected by staff striking?

The call centre has been closed since the start of the strike, even the 173 prepaid call centre now takes ages from someone to answer....

Feel sorry for people that need to block lost/stole simcards or activate or query billing related problems.

These guys are useless. Still waiting for a R15 refund due for an overcharging mistake they made on my wife's contract.Logged it with them on the 24th; i was passed on the relevant dept & f-all feedback. The fighting is not worth R15

I wonder how it would be if you go on a strike with no pay because your union is fighting for a higher salary and after days only to be told that you are retrenched!

You and I consider our jobs too valuable and wouldn't join the strike. We would carry on going to work because we have bills to pay and/or a family to support!

Majority of these strikers have zero F's....

Yay! Then my retrenchment cover pays out for up to 6 months, and then there is the UIF as well and on both those I can easily survive a year without accessing any savings...

/trollface

Mybb is a bit slow off the mark on this one. That 808's been closed since the strike began, middle of last week. I already posted that.

You are kept online for about 60 seconds before you find out, though.

I'm trying to port out 2 contract numbers and not getting any luck

You even bothered to log a call with them about R15? I know times are tight but geez.

Dude what are you on about. I saw a R15 discrepancy on my bill & queried it. I would like to think most normal folks would do that; it's about the principle of the 15 bucks. If something does not seem right/add up; challenge it.

Granted their incompetence mean I will most likely never receive the R15 credit due to me but that's how the cookie crumbles.

Good for you. MTN should be thankful because whatever underlying system or process created the incorrect bill needs to be fixed.

tried helping someone this afternoon. 173 says to use selfhelp options as call centre is closed.

Wonder if it worked well before the strike. These call center are becoming useless nowadays. Think Telkom
