Hi *******

Thank you for the email!

Apologies about the information Nicolas has told you, We have not informed our staff as yet that we now support prepaid MTN simcards for APN access.
The reason this is not on our website yet is because we are in testing phase, It does work so you can sign up for it.

This will become public knowledge when we launch the product to prepaid clients.

Have a great day further!

There you go :P

Post was made on NH ,I just copied it.

If this information comes a reliable source will be porting my primary number over to MTN immediately.

Hope its soon getting very impatient walking around with a Mifi In my pocket and powerbank.

Basically what the email entails you can apply for the service now using your prepaid number. They will do all the provision on their side.. going to signup for this package now and let you know if it was successful.

Holy ****!! Now this is going to make me get a MTN sim card!!

Works with Axxess too. ;)

I think MTN opened custom APN's for prepaid users.

Could someone explain the requirements and how this works for those of is that are somewhat techie challenged, please?

Get a prepaid MTN simcard at any store. Rica it and activate it by switching the sim on. You get a new MTN number or you can port your existing number to that simcard.

Go to the axxess website or afrihost website and buy a mobile data package you want and just select the apn option when buying and enter the mtn simcard cellphone number on the website.

Now on your device you need to use Axxess or Afrihost data settings which basically just means changing FROM mymtn apn TO Axxess or Afrihost.

Then you simply pay axxess or afrihost for your data. :)

From the afrihost website:
In order to enable your MTN SIM Card to work on the Afrihost network, we will need to provision it for the Afrihost APN (Access Point).

This can take 72 hours to complete.

We will notify you as soon as your SIM Card has been provisioned and you can start enjoying your awesome, affordable data.

Anyone know if the 72 hours is inclusive of weekends?

Before it used to be done manually on MTN side. Now it is done system side I think because it is pretty much automatically. Like 10min max maybe no matter what time.
