MWeb Johannesburg DC Down?

Looks like they are having some internal issues on their network there this morning.

I logged a fault this morning. Got an auto-responder msg.

Phoning the call centre was a total waste of time. Never managed to get through to any person (three attempts).

PS: our server is still offline at 13h35.

Still down it appears. Hung onto the business call centre for 40 minutes without a real person, no luck. Hopefully this will be resolved soon.

20 Hours and no service or feedback - avoid MWEB Business at all cost!

What the hell is going on with DC's lately?
First mtn, then mweb? What next teraco?
Or vodaword?

Its like this loadshedding killing them slowly or something?

We really are a 3rd world country where the infustructre is falling apart....

29 hours and still not fixed:mad:
According to the sms I got everything was supposed to have been resolved at 17:30 or so yesterday.

Maybe give them a call - or drive there and complain (if you are in Joburg)...

That SMS was a lie, they only got part of it working. They have no idea when rest will be up.

Has anyone managed to get through to their support? I hold on for 30 minutes, get transferred and then just silence.

On the portal it shows that my VM is up, but with a different IP. My biggest concern is logging on to the server brings me to a complete fresh install of windows server. All data and websites gone.

I am hoping that this is just part of the restoring process.

Hi @FRISKET, I have the same issues! Clients are not very happy as this "redundant" service of mine is not so "redundant" :(. 99.9% uptime window closing fast... #MwebBuzDisaster

Well could be the fact they use Windows :P

Got a update status SMS about an hour ago. They are still restoring VPSs... So holding thumbs.... they don't offer any reassurance.

We don't know what is wrong or if we should start working on Disaster Recovery. So I'm thinking worst case and starting a fallback procedure...

How does a DC have such poor redundancy? I can swap to an entirely different PC at home with a different internet connection and not even notice as I have data redundancy across the lot, how do I have better redundancy that a DC? I have power, internet and hardware redundancy and I don't even do anything mission critical? Did someone go rogue?
