New Samsung chips means multi-terabyte SSDs for your home PC

I can't wait for these things to become cheaper. I need a 1+TB SSD in my life.

Why would anyone want an SSD above 500GB for home use???

Because 256GB is not enough... install a few games, install a lot of software packages, and with Windows 7 being as bloated as it is... you get my drift...

How many games that actually need an SSD is installed on your SSD?

Plenty of games are already in the 30-40 GB range, like Shadow Of Mordor, and one of the mmorpgs in development is going to be 100GB (article was on mybb previously). So if you have 3 or 4 games and Windows on there there is not much left of 250 GB.

Yeah I get that but when we talk about games like Diablo 3 then we really don't need to run it from an SSD.

Most major titles will benefit from a SSD. Diablo 3 would also benefit, faster loading times into the game.
Games like LoL and Smite would also benefit, less waiting time for the game to start.
Then games that would see an obvious benefit:
Any fps such as COD and BF series. Witcher 3, Skyrim, GTA V, etc.

A SSD is a good investment. If 1TB prices would drop I'd get one immediately due to the performance improvement.

I have an SSD, I know; but for a game like D3, I don't mind waiting 2 seconds longer. My SSD is meant for Windows and heavy games like GTA V, Battlefield, SC2 and such.

There you have it.
YOU don't mind, other people do. If I could move everything to an SSD and get a permanent speed-up on everything, I would.

I think the topic touched on if it is really worth it to get a huge SSD given its current price. Of course I would like everything in an ssd but it's just not feasible given the expense.
