Move over Toyota Hilux, Fiat is coming

Yeah, I honestly don't think Toyota are worried about this bakkie...

The Mitsubishi didn't sell too well, this won't either.

closely related to the Mitsubishi Triton

Sure, in the same way that Dolly the sheep is closely related to all the clones of Dolly the sheep.

That reminds me, I have to get my arse over to that motor show.

Move over? Not likely. The Mitsubishi Triton that it is based on sells faaaaar less than Toyota, (btw the Ford Ranger is selling more than the Hilux so it should be more over Ranger...) despite being cheaper than both.

So unless this fiat good deal cheaper than the mitsubishi I don't see this making much of an impact.

This will compete against the Steed. It will make little to no impression on the Hilux and Ranger sales. Completely different markets.

The Triton thing is mainly due to Toyota's market share. The Triton is a million time better bakkie. However, Toyota fan boys are loyal. I think this bakkie will make an impact, however there is NOTHING that can touch the Ford Rangers atm. By far the most gorgeous bakkies ever to set foot in SA.

This I can agree with... this will give the Steed a good run for its money, if FIAT aren't retarded and price it against Hilux/Ranger etc..

The Triton a million times better than a Hilux?

The aussies disagree with you about it being better:

Probably the most thorough bakkie test I've read.

yes, from personal experience.

Disclosure for Orbital:
The above statement is based on my own personal experience and does not represent any other person's view.

Not the new ones though the Triton is still old school in terms of size, engine etc. Hope they release a newly designed one soon.

looks like a clone of the triton,

probably shares some components as well

It is a clone..

Mitsubishi build them, and then Fiat but their badges on it... it doesn't share some components, they're identical vehicles pretty much.
