This is a thread for tips on what is hot on the JSE and what's not.

Essentially for all us EasyEquities.co.za lovers and the rest.

It's a way we can measure, "teach" and share what's going on in our portfolio's atm, what stocks we are interested in and so forth.

The idea started here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...n-85-Today?p=16579441&viewfull=1#post16579441

Side note:

The EasyEquities platform is by far and away the cheapest and easiest way to invest in South Africa. EasyEquities has really removed the barriers to entry with investing and is making it possible for anyone and everyone to own a piece of their favourite listed companies! You can start your own investment portfolio with as little as R10.

Simply click on this link http://bit.ly/1Nclzaf to register (It is my referal link, show some love baby, lets do this.)

PLEASE NOTE:

Okes, Im not sure if we can make it s sticky on the 1st page or something....

Ive seen some great advice here, but its absolutely crucial to do your own research too. Dont blindly follow advice hoping to make a quick buck.

Investors have individual goals and risk appetite differ. Circumstances such as term of investment, age, goal etc etc etc can WILL determine if investing in a certain stock is profitable.

One guy might be buying Lonmin with his life savings hoping to double up within 3 months, when another is using petty cash over a 5 year term.

Take the info here with a pinch of salt, and do your own research!!!

I have set up a little JSE discord server for SA investors you can join it here: https://discord.gg/jTj4p

@Hamster was kind enough to build in some bots for added functionality.

You can also get a lot of good insights on the JSE and ZAR X stock forum

So any feeling about MTN, Volkswagen, Murray & Roberts and Rhodes Food?

In my opinion mtn offers value. I have mtn zakhele atm and have to wait out the rough patch. They are still a dominant player in MEA.

The risk is the fine and what will happen but that is short term and is not going to tank the company.

I love woolies but they r looking exp atm.

Any good android share portfolio tracking software

Thanks for this thread, it's a good idea.

I know everyone is talking about Lonmin, and I wonder if it is worth getting a few shares while they are down in the gutter

MTN have been hovering around R142. I am at -8.84%. Not too worried though, it will recover. I haven't dropped below 10% since this schitstorm started. I reckon it may be a good time to buy...

Oh wait, Uganda Ezee thing is flaring again...

At the moment I'm looking to open up an EasyEquities account for my brother to get him to start saving. Will probably tell him to go 50/50 on BBET40 and DBXWD
