Google Play Music launched in South Africa

Awesome!!

I don't suppose there is any chance this will encourage Spotify to hurry up and enter the SA market?

currently all my music is in itunes, half of it doesn't have album art, and some that does has the wrong album art as a lot of music is from uk top 40 so just has the album art. Whats the best way to get album art?

have uploaded it to google play, but it doesnt seem to get album art

EDIT
I see it does have album art, but is usually displays album not the artists song artwork on my phone, if that makes sense

I assume this is the normal SA neutered collection of songs and not the full US catalog?

Looks like 1 month free, not 2. I'm testing it now. It's good time from Google's side, seeing that Rdio is being discontinued for time being after the acquisition.

About time :wtf:

Currently using Spotify Premium, but will give Google Play Music a try (apparently it's better?), I think I have a 90 day trial or something.

Ah sorry about that, I was looking at my UK google account and it had a banner for 2 months free access.

You are right, South Africa is 1 month but still, that price after is brilliant compared to the likes of spotify.

I currently use Simfy and before that I used Grooveshark. Grooveshark was miles ahead of Simfy even if it wasn't legal. Will try out Google Play and see how that compares.

I wonder who's music collection that is in the image, becasue it looks like someone I will have a lot to chat about....

I can't get it to work. When I click on the Get Started button it shows a waiting spinning circle and then just nothing happens. Even if I hard refresh the page.

It seems Chrome is ironically having issues with all Google Play services. The Play Store couldn't search yesterday... Just open it up in Safari to do the initial registration.

Gave it a solid 5 min testing before I realised there isn't full offline support. You either have to purchase the song/album or hope its a "free" song to download. So with that, I'm going back to Apple Music...
