Tired of Windows, please help me Dual Boot

I like all things that seems to be just a las on Microsoft.

Git, Jekyll, ruby etc

What is the ideal Linux OS to dual boot with my Laptop:

MSI GT72 6QE

SSD Samsung m.2 950 Pro
32Gb DDR4 Ram
i7 6th gen.

It's so easy Thor why are you asking such basic k@k questions?

Well firstly f you and secondly I had some difficulty in the past with specific functions of the laptop not working especially Bluetooth drivers.

So I am looking for a reliable OS to dual boot with.

What is my goal:

Start doing web dev in linux with the idea to get rid of windows eventually unless I need office.
 
Why not just jump in the deep end and dump windows altogether?

Come on Thor, this really is easy.

There must be about 1 000 000 000 000 sites out there that have walkthroughs, guides, etc, etc, etc.

Problem with a bluetooth driver isn't a dual boot problem, it's something much more specific.

To partially answer your question - Use Ubuntu or Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu).

Even easier, download ubuntu/linux variant, use the live boot from USB device and see if everything works out the box.

Ubuntu is sooo sloowwww

But will most likely be the os I install.



Side note.

I have a 1TB HDD also in the laptop with files and stuff.

I assume this will either work on windows or on Linux but not both?
 
Last weekend I ditched windows and installed Linux Mint on my laptop.

Everything worked out of the box - without any hassles.

Everything and then some.

Not going into the MS Office vs Inferior attempts again.

MS Office is non negotiatiable unfortunately so will need to dual boot.

If you are so in love with windows then why dual boot?

Not to mention the integration in real world. EVERYONE uses Office in our world.

I am not in love with MS, but it is easy and efficient so no need to chuck it out, and Outlook is a very big reason why I won't. No other email client is as stable when it comes to our scale of mail.

So windows is a stay. I don't like to work in a VM it's not nice to work in productively (talking gui here) and not full screen lekke.

So dual boot is a must.

You most certainly can run VMs in full screen.

I would not be here asking for option to dual boot if the VM I run hit my sexual buttons (which it does not)

I prefer a "native" environment
