Operating system to run virtual macOSX near natively

I got 3 laptops...First laptop has linux on and windows.I use sosumi on the linux partition but struggling with usb passthrough.I do all my iphone stuff on linux as far as possible but hit a roadblock when mac must be used.

The second laptop has windows 11 and dual boot with ubuntu mint and i use this for all android and sony playstation repairs.Because this is a amd i cannot make a hackintosh, i reseached and it wont work.

The third laptop is a old aspire e 15 start.Its empty no os on it.I would like to make this a hackintosh but its weak so to speak to run catalina.

I would like some advice on what is the best approach to run macosx without buying a macbook, and also have good speeds.

Why not just get an oldish Mac mini?

I downloaded a catalina VMware file a while back, seems to work ok.

I downloaded a catalina VMware file a while back, seems to work ok.

Try that.

I did try vmware big sure and its ok but i need it to be as sosumi but easy to wok from usb

Indeed, funds are tight at this time of year. While playing with a hackintosh could be fun, you can pick up a Mac mini for about R2000 - R2500.

According to this anything from the 2012 mini onwards will work

macOS Catalina is compatible with these computers - Apple Support (ZA)

You can install macOS Catalina on any of these Mac models.

Every year or so I need to update a dataset on a legacy application, and deploy an update to the App Store.
Definitely going to see if this will work.

ok i tried the docker route... all goes well but when the installation is like one minute to finish it stucks there ,i left it for 4 hour and it still says one minute remaining.There is enough space.I then reset and did it again and it again stucked at one minute.I tried big sur and that to sticked at one minute.....wtf is going on.

I will have to try the ubuntu forums and ask wtf is going on,I did send a message to sickcodes..waiting on response

Well that was a mistake not buying a MacBook Air.

You could always try Mac instances on AWS. It's somewhat expensive and comes with a lock in for 24 hours, so it will cost you $0.65 per hour ($15.60 for the 24 hour period excluding other costs like EBS volumes). It's the mac2 instances that are cheaper.

They will probably lock or delete your post as they will say it's illegal to run osx on anything but Mac hardware.
