Microsoft ending Nokia smartphone mission

Nothing wrong with the product... Just p1$$ poor software dev, lack of marketing and lack of product availability.

However, MS can now stick to it's core, which is software and emerging devices, and lease out it's patents and grow it's footprint.

They bought Nokia for killing it

Nokia was already basically dying/dead.MS just made sure they saw it through.:p

I just hope this Windows Continuum thing gets proper momentum,it would be a pity to see something as useful as that go unexplored simply because windows phone doesn't have enough traction.

I can see the convenience in having one device as both your phone and actual proper PC.

Should have just switched their phones to android, then sold off the phone company

Well on the flip side. Nokia is looking at releasing phones again, but running android. So might be interesting to see what they do in that space. Solid build quality backed by android OS.

I don't count on this. I want a phone which is available all the time. If a phone starts eating my cellular bandwith for Windows updates maybe I might bare it (3GB on desktop). But if phone stops functioning for one hour during installing upgrades, I have to say it is over - Microsoft is F*7k$d.

One device has already proven a failure, just like when MS made one OS for everything and ended up with an OS for nothing.

It's a different manufacturer with the brand name so can't say that.
