Windows 10 one year on: it’s evolving but privacy still a concern

More features, no fixing bugs.
]The Start menu – a fixture since Windows 95 – was removed in favour of a start screen, which proved to be a disastrous move.
Start menu is not back in Windows 10. A replacement, a forced flat alphabetic type is another receipe for disaster.

Don't know how old this is, as not dated, but they state to check back for updates. Nicely described & laid out, and there's also a link for Win 7 & 8.1 privacy fixes ..

By default, Windows sends a lot of your information to their servers sometimes without asking you to opt-in.
Follow this guide to fix Windows 10 and restore your privacy.

Microsoft introduced a lot of new great features in Windows 10 such as Cortana. However, most of them are breaking your privacy. For example if you're using the default settings, each time you start typing in search box in taskbar (to open an application or search for a file on your computer), your local search terms and location are sent to Microsoft, some of which advertise to you.

Windows have to protect user privacy by default. Since it doesn't, you can follow these steps to disable the parts of Windows which are invasive to your privacy.

Thanks for reposting this article. One of the best things I did last year was to upgrade from Win 8.1 to Win 10. Many of my "acquaintances" has heard me talking about the OS and my experiences with it and some of them woke up last week Thursday to the idea of upgrading to Win 10 and requested my assistance but unfortunately for most of them it was a very busy day at work for me and I only managed to perform two upgrades due to only having the one Win10 DVD on me. People on FOMO is just so funny! :crylaugh: :crylaugh:

Glad the free upgrade offer period is gone. Maybe we'll stop seeing these offer ads everywhere
