WhatsApp to allow companies to send you ads

I remember someone once arguing that whatsapp will never serve you adds....
 
I think we all knew this was coming after Facebook bought WhatsApp. Facebook aint going to buy something for that kind of money and let people use it indefinitely for love and charity.
 
As long as they give me the option to disable it, with a purchase if necessary otherwise I'll just start using another app.
 
Looks like we will all be moving to Telegram soon or till Google lauches their version of WhatsApp.
 
FB is an evil data-collecting money machine who sucks you dry for all the revenue they can make off you.

Might be no such as thing as a free lunch and then there is FB.

:crylaugh: True. But they need to start thinking out the box. People want a service. Provide it to them. I am yet to try out the Duo app. But something like that for IM would be great from Google.
 
I left WhatsApp in April after the 3rd party client I was using stopped working. Haven't looked back since, and not missing it at all. It took some persuasion, but I was finally able to get all my immediate family on Telegram, which is working out well, and has a couple of nice features that don't exist on WhatsApp, e.g. ability to send/receive any file types

adds + Margret fiasco is potentially the kick up the backside people in south africa needed to get off whatsapp and join telegram
 
2016 = we all switch from Whatsapp to Telegram
2017 = Facebook buys Telegram
