Mother Buffer MWEB, you can’t say that

The complaints were dismissed by the ASA.
Hey, even a broken clock is right twice a day and ASASA got this one right.

Seriously though, someone needs to call the tree doctor to remove the stick that seems to have been lodged up in their nether region.

These people have nothing better to do...other than pay for DSTV and complain.

“The use of the word Mother-buffer is inappropriate, clearly an attempt to hide vulgar language and is being emulated by young children,” stated the complainants.

Oh no,and the younglings would know that emulates vulgar language because?Seriously?

Hehehehehe... and possibly someone get's paid to "spot" these?Yerr, very productive are we now?

Tell that to the likes of Vodacom, Cell C, MTN and Telkom who are always waiting for each other to use one wrong word that could be misconstrued in their ads.

Why do I get the feeling they organised their own complaint to get some free publicity from this ad?

I disagree and think the complaint was valid.
The use of the term is a clear reference to mother furcer. It is vulgar and debases women, especially mothers. To use it in a comical fashion reinforces its use.

How dare you speak on behalf of mothers and the institutions of the English language?
