Well played SABC, you had me over a barrel

For months, I deleted TV Licence payment SMS messages sent my way while chuckling gleefully – but this week, the SABC had the final laugh.

There are lots of things Staff Writer could have done..

Primary one would be to go to a retailer who doesn't give a toss about the TV License thing.

Last time I bought a TV (2014), the guy didn't even check if the licence I gave him was still valid - he just wanted the number.

Im a bit of a cheapskate and bargain hunter, Ill buy a 55inch TV 2nd hand on Carbonite over a new 42 inch (at the same price) any day.

BONUS! no TV licence required.
