I'm leaning towards the Moto Z Play as my next phone.

Not the best looking, nor the best camera (don't do much mobile photography, so that doesn't bother me). The 2 day battery is what I'm after; probably 3+ with the battery mod.

You get different battery mods, and one supports wireless charging. Wireless charger sold separately. Just threw that in there, as reviews of the batteries specify same :p.

Also a big fan of stock Android (or as close as possible).

I had the last Moto X, they make good phones and I really like their near stock android take. I was also considering the Moto Z, in fact I nearly got one but ended up rather with a OnePlus 3t and I'm very happy with it.

I liked the concept of the Moto mods personally but the camera mod is rediculously expensive.

The camera mod is like 3k and not worth it.

Vodacom deals have Moto Z with battery mod (value R899), and Moto Z Play with JBL speaker mod (value R699).
I'm going to get the Moto Z Play and then buy the battery mod.
Combined battery ~ 5700 mAh.

Moto Z going for R5999 at DionWired for Father's Day.

That's an excellent price.

Just got the Z Play on contract during the weekend.

Missing some of the Huawei finesse actually, like notification numbers on the app icons.

Did your network operator include a Moto Mod as part of the package?

Got my Moto Z Play, style mod and JBL speaker mod. Haven't used it cause Its running through a whole lot of updates.

@Starvekos - received exactly the same as you.

Re: Updates - it does 5 or 6 system updates, up to Android 7 (Nougat) from 6.0.1 (Marshmallow).

Ordered mine yesterday as an upgrade. I was actually going with either the Nokia 5 or Vodafone Smart V8 but the Moto Z is a far better phone and cost R20 per month. Had it not been for the Nexus 6 I bought last month I could have gone without 1440p but now I've become used it.
