Strangely, the RX4xx are more efficient than the RX5xx.

Strangely, the RX470 is more efficient than the RX570.

The RX 570 clocks higher, you get less of a return in terms of performance the further you get away from the "sweet spot", which is probably around the 1100MHz marker (hopefully someone else knows a more exact number?)

A new factor of the RX cards is the new Chill option, though the 400 series and some other AMD cards should also have it.

In-game CSGO, difference between them isn't noticeable in terms of performance.
 
The 580/570 is a re-branded 480/470...

Everything's clocked a bit higher while they're still on the same architecture.
 
By comparison, my 480 is perfectly happy at 1350, under-volted and running nice and cool.

I do wonder how many people know about under-volting their graphics card, the Radeon Crimson Software is really nice in that regard.
Meanwhile I uninstalled GeForce Experience due to that terrible idea of a login system and its recommended specs always being wrong even though it's a laptop where tons of people should have the same specs for common games.

What I am waiting for is laptops with Polaris/Vega and if they'll have that option, Chill will have a huge impact on laptops gaming performance as heat/power draw is a huge factor there.
 
If you own a 400 series you can flash the bios with a 500 series one and you'll get the same performance. It will obviously run hotter and consume more power

I don't think there is a reference RX 580.

The move from AMD from reference cards to a complete third-party cooler line-up is a good idea - principally because overclocking the standard RX 480 resulted in a lot of noise, while the lacklustre thermal management caused the card to vary significantly from its max boost clocks, even without an OC in place. In short, it got hot and throttled potential performance. While not perfect, all three cards we tested here spent much more time locked to their maximum frequencies.

Same, RX 470 undervolted to 950mV at 1216MHz, when running a benchmark stress test it never went above 70°C and this is on a reference blower style card.

A Gigabyte GTX 1060 does it at 70°C so I'm quite happy with 70°C on a AMD reference board.

When gaming it's mid 60's.
