Biostar unveils new AM4 motherboard for cryptocurrency mining

Can't find an expected retail price, but found this comment:

The problem with AMD and Altcoin mining right now is the the cheapest AMD cpu is $169 on newegg vs $38 for the intel g3930 celeron with Biostar's own b250 btc motherboard.

With the cost savings of getting the celeron, I can get 2 celerons and 2 4gb of ddr4-$26/each, and a few burger king chicken sandwiches (I'll be building 2 mining rigs all day so I'll get hungry). Or I can get a Corsair 1000w psu.

I'm wondering if eventually more graphic cards will be sold for currency mining as opposed to gaming/editing :wtf:

Could the shortage of 480's be due to mining demand ?

You can't mine ETH with ASIC farms.
There are deliberate attempts made by the developers of the algorithms to use techniques to prevent ASICS from being profitable. This was because they placed the rest of us at a huge disadvantage.

Go look on AliExpress how the farm owners are getting rid of their ASIC miners. GPU mining is back!

Now, mods/admins, about that cryptocurrency subforum request

90% of amd sales in the country is for mining. Maybe even more

Yep only stock you will find is expensive 8gb cards.

he was talking btc.

BUT thats good to know there are no "machines" yet for this else it is just game over for GPU guys.
I dont think i would like to buy an LTC or BTC miner i mean **** for what? they become redundant eventually, surely?
GPUs u can resell

Other, Zcash and the likes. Not erhereum like the article states. It's too late to get into that game if you buy hardware specifically for ether. https://etherscan.io/chart/difficulty

Yet it is more profitable to mine Ethereum rather than Zcash right now, i dont know , but it is.
At least that is what Nicehashminer says.

X11 Dash sucks its horrible, it was good about 1 month ago but i didnt have an AMD card at that time.
I am so behind.

Where do you come from with this nonsense?
<- Doubled his investment in his RX480 in 3 months.

lol this doesnt have all the context. he was merely saying that for BTC , GPU mining is not good, and as far as I am aware , this is true ?
