I guess its reasonable of me to expect bullschit like this from Vodacom then.

Ah, yes, we can claim anything/mislead everyone and then use the old "terms and conditions apply" aka "The large print giveth and the small print taketh away" get out of jail free card. Not this time.

Us reasonable people also want cheaper pricing, for increases in data and talk time on your packages....

How many misleading Vodacon ads is this now?

No Vodacon any reasonable person would assume the extra data lasts as long as the paid data, just as when you get an extra shirt when buying one you expect to be able to wear it during the week and not just on Sundays.
 
vodacom puts out "special / promo".
Dupes 10k people (thumbsuck).
1% chance of someone complaining. (thumbsuck)
ASA requests only that the ad gets withdrawn with no other penalties or consequences -as per usual.
vodacom withdraws ad -comes off scot-free, still having duped 10k people out of money.
vodacom profits while flicking off 10k people and the ASA.
Rinse and repeat with no repercussions.
