Hi All

Has anyone had experience with RocketNet ISP, particularly on the Vumatel network? They seem fairly new and I can't seem to find any reviews on them. Their pricing looks very competitive

Thanks

Hooked a family member up on them last week 4/1. So far no problems and speed seems fine and get what is payed for. Their service was great though, got the router the same day and that was after hours.

They have been around for a while on Metrofibre, they now expanded to a few other networks.

So I ended up signing up with RocketNet on Vumatel.

Their service is great. A few minutes after registering the package on the Vumatel portal, I got a call from RocketNet. Apparently I was supposed to sign up on the website as well, so I signed up and within 10 minutes I was up and running. 50/50 package:

Happy with their service so far :)

I ordered the 100/100 package from them. Will see coming September how it goes. Also going to port my landline number, R35 or something extra.

Any update on this?

Would like to suggest them as an affordable low-end option for our tenants, but would like some feedback on how their service is.

Haven't had any issues since my last post, always getting full speed any time of the day :)

Hi Guys, your positive feedback is great to hear, we really do try and go the extra mile with regards to customer service and are always making sure that our network caters for true uncapped and unthrottled service.

Great! A rocketnet representative, good to see this:)

Hi guys - I have been trying to get connected to Rocket net for a week now. Original install was booked for the 18th August. Was switching from Iconnect due to rocketnets excellent pricing.

Thing is they say Fibrehoods had to come and do a site survey (or something like this) before connection can happen. Rocketnet have installed their router already. Fibrehoods modem is still here and fully functional. I am at a loss - I don't know how we can get connected.

The irony is I switched from iconnect to save money and have now racked up a fortune on mobile data. Any ideas anyone?

Been with RocketNet for a short while now, but can honestly say compared to other ISP's, these guys are leaps and bounds ahead! Very Customer-centric approach, and great product and service delivery! Very quick to respond to questions and pro-active communication with their clients!
Highly recommended!

Hey guys, is their entry level router any good - between RocketNet and Active Fibre - same price on vuma (well.. AF is R500 more setup cost)

Vuma is busy in my hood (Durbanville area) and ISP's have been bombarding us with pamphlets and sms. I will seriously look at RocketNet, if they're available in my hood. Now just have to wait till the rollouts are done, but doing my homework in the meantime.
I can see Telkom loosing big time in my area.

Recently got 4MB Uncapped RocketNet on Vuma in Durbanville. Downloads are pretty great, but the latency not so much. I get frequent spikes of 300 - 800ms, even to local servers. Makes playing FPS games a bit of a pain.

I would log a ticket for this. You should not ever get spikes like that on fibre. There may be a problem with your installation.

Hey Longdong, can you DM us your info and we will sort this out for you.

That’s correct something is definitely wrong here, is this over WiFi
It's my landlord's subscription so I'll have to get the details from them.

It is over WiFi yes. Their router is quite far away from me at the moment. Could that cause latency spikes?
