Why does telegram blog mention it like it's new then?
If you set a timer, the countdown starts the moment your recipient opens the photo or video you sent. After the time runs out, the photo/video will disappear forever, just like in Secret Chats.

If the recipient tries to make a screenshot of your disappearing media, you’ll get a notification immediately.

yes.

but you can still take a photo wiht another phone, so you dont need to mention its not secure, we get it your tinfoil hat and distrust is clear.

That's pretty cool, I was just wondering.

If there was a thing I learnt from Going Up (RIP Joe), it was from that paranoid security guard lady in the building reception, "trust no one".
