Rain LTE-A tested – 30Mbps with low latency

Now test the speeds without using the forced upon router to determine whether the speeds are throttled by said router.
 
The speeds are slow....really slow. Who can explain why they are soooo slow? It's LTE-A - it should be much faster. My telkom 1800mhz LTE - no A - consistently bests those speeds.

mybroadband - can we find out if they are being throttled to manage the network?
 
Webafrica charges R1799 Once-off for the router.
Afrihost charges R2 499.00 Once-off for the router.
 
I have it. Getting 49Mbps download speeds in the high 5mb/s. Around 21gb downloaded in an hour during a stress test.
 
Looking to get into the rain Mweb deal, looks like a good(only) alternative for a family of four with uncapped wifi but at a very low speed.
Our Area currently only has the infrastructure for 2mbps adsl (has been so for the past 5 years)
Telkom LTE-A is not available in our area and neither is the uncapped LTE.
Telkom's 100GBs of LTE capped data that we would easily use up costs more than the month to month price of Mweb's 240GB (incl bonus data) deal.

So my question to you all, if we have been used to poor line quality, poor service, very high pings (in excess of 1000 at times), average download speed of 1.20 mbps and upload speeds of 0.30 mbps, surely this is the right choice, given that we fall well within Mwebs Rain coverage area.
