If you are an MTN subscriber, you can win R3,000 cash and other prizes by testing the mobile network.

MTN has zero-rated the MyBroadband Android and iOS Speed Test Apps, which means you can perform MTN network tests for free – without any data charges.

To enter the giveaway, here is what you should do:

  • Download the MyBroadband Android Speed Test App / iPhone Speed Test App
  • Perform a speed test using the App on the MTN network (not Wi-Fi – these results do not count towards the giveaway).
  • Post your download speed and location in this thread.
  • You can enter as many times as you like, but each entry should be from a different location (one entry per location).
The giveaway winners will be selected and announced on 4 September.

The problem is that we will not see the entry in the DB. It has to be through the smartphone on the MTN network, otherwise it is stored as a Wi-Fi test.

Did MTN ZERO RATE the download of APP for speedtest? or the customer pays for the app download and they pay for the data used for testing? Chances of someone winning 3000 is lot less than you being caught in bad traffic or robot not working.
