WhatsApp’s new feature – Live location sharing

Woman: "Where are you?"
Man: "At the shops, buying you flowers, will be home in about an hour."
Woman: "Share your location now..."
Man: "Ahhhh, errrrr, ummmm...."

I'd rather do this with Google Maps :p

Actually, we already do. If something happens to the SO or me it's easy to find each other. Paranoid? Maybe a little bit but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

There was/is a feature when you wanted to you could share your location.

If this new things allows one to click on "John"s name and then to say follow his driving route... Then it will cause many problems in jealous/possesive relationships(thank goodness I don't have that problem) and also be a great tool for criminals...

I think John has to share his location ..

Been using permanent Location Sharing ever since it’s been baked into iOS.

Purely because I’m on a motorcycle and if for someone reason I don’t show up people can see where I was last.

Have nothing to hide and it’s a safer option overall.

So I’m guessing this feature also just makes it “permanent” or rather at request without user intervention.

you have to share your Location and you choose who to share it with and for how long. so if you are sharing it with criminals you need to change your contacts
its on beta so trialing it out - quite a nice feature, safety wise etc.
