Hey guys
I'm experiencing an issue with my LTE where every night at 12 sharp (and often a few times around 12, eg 11:30pm or 1am) my Telkom LTE will lose connection, irrespective of whether it's on 4G or 3G mode, or what spectrum (1800 or 2300) I'm using.
I then check downdetector.co.za, or activity on their Twitter handle and unsurprisingly, I'm never the only person complaining
The problem is, I contacted Telkom Social media early last week to try and establish a cause for the problem, but all they did was ask me what number was being affected and then told me that they've escalated it to their networks department (their usual trick of keeping you waiting an eternity for nothing)
As it is, my ADSL line is dropping sync 24/7 since it started raining, which is why I'm using LTE. In fact the only reason I have LTE is so that I have a reliable failover when my ADSL is not working. As a competitive gamer, this type of unreliable service is just not acceptable. I'd be willing to tolerate it if they could provide me with a legitimate reason for why it's happening, but instead they are mum. Paying for poor service is one thing, but getting no answer/customer support when you simply ask the question of why you are experiencing these scheduled interruptions, just takes that frustration to the next level.
Am I the only one experiencing this highly disruptive midnight phenomenon? Does anyone know why it's happening yet?
