Amazon will soon deliver packages inside your home

I wonder what protection plan is provided to the Prime subscription users utilising Amazon Key?

Essentially, you the subscriber allows access to your private premises. Smart lock access can be copied or manipulated, and Amazon Cloud Cam is a non-preventative measurement.

I remember thinking how amazing it was, when visiting a friend in Washington state. Ordered something from amazon and we weren't home when it was delivered so it was just left outside the front door, all day. No wall or fence around the property, the garden goes right to the pavement. It was a bit of a culture shock for me but completely normal for my friend. Yes, if nobody is home they just leave it outside your door. Obviously, I guess it depends where in the States you are...

Can't see this ever working. What if somethine goes missing from your house and you try claim from insurance. They will laugh it off.

Who thought this was a good idea? Even if the deliveryman himself isn't a thief the system can be hacked.

We listened to someone going on about a very specific IoT application yesterday that is the first time I have heard anyone come up with a truly justifiable IoT application.

But these daft ideas that we see is just giving the IoT concept a very bad name.

Dammit Ninja'd, you need to think about it. Is there an overlap of hackers and burglars? Burglar uses the window as usual.

Note: had to time to think about the possibility of a burglar with leet hacking skills. :o

When anything goes wrong, I guarantee "the Russians did it."

Sorry Arthur this is a truly dumb idea!
The ultimate invasion of privacy. A lock controlled by an outsider with a so-called secure key? Over the Internet? Forget it.

I see that some Americans has already started to complain online even though this is a subscription service meaning that you as the consumer need to apply. The very reason why I asked on a recourse policy practised by American law or an onus taken by Amazon.

However, Amazon Key is a choice, it is an innovative option to add value to an etailing experience and herewith I can agree with Arthur.

To say that it is a dumb idea is hasty, perhaps in your perspective, but Amazon has had success with these inroads more so than those with opinions on the internet.
