Fortnite battle Royale

Thought we should make a Fortnite Battle Royale thread.

Maybe I'm the only one that did not know but Fortnite Battle Royale is free to play even if you don't have PS plus.

So if you you have a ps4 with no plus you can still play it online for free. Also if you play it on pc you can carry link your epic game account and your progress will be carried to the ps4.


On another note. My ps4 launch addition seem to overheat? Fan spinning fast when I play Fortnite on it.

Yeah matched with a squad. 3 of us die this other guy no weapon at all just camps in the bushes and placed second. He just missed a decent gun pickup at the end.....

I don't understand why people do that. Yes you place high but it's not fun at all. I will rather die placing lower but have some action looting taking out squads as you go. Practice some decent building skills.

Don't discourage it, bush wookies are my favourite players to encounter.
 
Already snubbed it in favor of BF4 on the PS4.
Dying quickly + loading times spoils it for me.

When last did you play it? The new patch actually improved loading times a lot.

Battlefield 1 has the longest loading time for me for a console game. Damn when the map changes that loading times....

It was jarring the first match I played after the update, I would usually take that time to scroll through Tapatalk or reddit on my phone, then the update came and now matches load too fast, I hear it's even faster on console, I assume because there are more console players so the lobbies fill up even faster.

Played most of Fortnite on xbox one s. So when a friend wanted to join me I switched to ps4. Installed and updated it. Finding matches was instant. As soon as you click ready it just say "Machmaking" then instantly loads into a game. PC is not far off though and matches are found pretty fast any time of day or night.

They absolutely stole the market with this, it's a free game that runs on PS4, Xbox One, macOS and even if you have a potato PC you will more than likely get 60FPS

I'd say probably 70% of the kills I get per match are people with skins so people are spending money.
 
I still clearly remember the first week I played, still looking for my first win when people started posting on reddit how cool it would be if we got different coloured umbrellas with every x amount of wins and I thought to myself it would take me years to get to 100 wins.

I'm now approaching 150 wins and will probably have it by the end of the week, it's true what everyone says once you get that first win it becomes easier.

To get a win for me is still very hard. I can build quickly but it's like I take sooo much damage compared to the guys I shoot. Sigh...

That said I wanted to jump in a game quickly. Uhm no waiting in line. 8min queue...

That's still good, I came 2nd my first time playing and had no idea what I was doing.

I think it took me about 30 games to win by taking over someone's base and then killing the last person.

It's at that point I realised how essential building is, changing my keys away from F1 and F2 to my side mouse buttons completely changed the game for me.

The queue time is about 10min on PC right now and 15min on PS4. Did not check xbox but waited for the queue on PC.

Building is so crucial. You can win fights by just building properly and fast. Gives you such an advantage. Played one round now and came 5th with my filled squad. Very good weapons we killed everyone but lost because we did not build correctly so faced a team from front and back and got killed. Proper building could have covered us from one team. :)

EDIT: Scratch that PC queue is now close to 15min :erm:

Good thing I finished my daily challenges then.

Once it gets around top 20 and I know I can outrun the circle I make sure to have the circle at my back or to go to the next circle fast and build up right at the edge to have the circle behind me.

Also one thing I only learned about probably two weeks ago is you can rotate your already placed stairs, that has helped a lot when people think they are sneaky:

Watched your youtube videos. You are pretty good. :)

Login queue for PC is 20min now and PS4 it's 34min
