Apple pulled Telegram from App Store due to child pornography

So were users sharing child porn or did the App itself distribute it to people?

:wtf: How did Apple verify it? Thought messages is encrypted.

Apple should probably remove all browsers from the app store.....

Anyone can join a channel and see what's on it.

One of the quickest ways to get porn these days...

From what I read, I come to the conclusion that not only Apple Telegram users would send and receive the porn?

If it was shared on a channel then yes, anybody who is part of the channel can send/receive. I don't think it's Apple-specific.

Interesting is what Telegram did to satisfy Apple demand and why it required to ban the app?

What a ridiculous move by Apple. Telegram is lightning quick to ban users and close channels that are up to no good, and like any messaging platform, they cannot monitor everything that goes on with an encrypted service. Apple could have just sent a message to the Telegram organisation and had the offending content and parties swiftly dealt with.

Apple removed Telegram from the App Store and contacted the dev and asked to help remove the illegal content from the app. The dev complied and the app is now back on the App Store. I don’t think it was a ridiculous move at all. Apple have a zero tolerance to illegal content especially child pornography.

Telegram has over 100 million users, as do many other messaging platforms. So Apple is going to take any of them down the moment illegal content is reported to them by somebody? It would take a handful of people to get Telegram pulled down every day if they felt like it. And it's not like Apple is uninstalling the app from anyone's devices, so they're hardly doing anything to restrict access to those who want it.

It is ridiculous. Apple should pull apps by developers who don't respond rapidly to reports that Apple sends them.

I see your point BUT, who cares anymore lol. The app is back on the App Store and it hasn’t affected anyone ;)

Common knowledge or personal experience?
Both :D Who watches porn on a computer anymore?

Easier to take your phone to the bathroom for a quick fap than risk getting caught in front of the computer...

They did send a message, one that Telegram couldn't easily ignore.

Besides, it's not as if Apple pulled it off phones, they just briefly pulled it off the App store for new downloads.
