CAPE TOWN - President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the Afrikanerbond centenary celebrations in Paarl, Western Cape, on Thursday. According to a statement released by the president's office, the address is "part of engaging key stakeholders towards building a prosperous South Africa". The Presidency says the Afrikanerbond was established on 5 June 1918 to look after the economic and cultural interests of Afrikaners. This year it celebrates its centenary during its national general meeting (bondsraad).

The Presidency says Ramaphosa’s attendance is an opportunity for him to engage the Afrikanerbond openly about his vision for the country, which is to rally all South Africans to do anything they can in their walks of life or circles of influence to build a prosperous and united society.

Ramadingdong will be there to bring out the begging bowl and to try and pacify those that get shafted the hardest by his party's balderdash.

The broederbond is no longer important. Solidariteit is much more representative of the Afrikaner interest with almost 500 000 members.

I worked at Naspers when old Zoomer came for many a meeting with Oom Koos.

If it was the case for them it was the case for the rest too.

When all these stories about the SABC and DSTV etc came about I wasn't even remotely surprised.

Wait for welcoming comments in this thread from bond members. Ah.. happened already.. Lol

Neither Afrikaans nor broederbond but the visit makes no sense. How do you juxtapose this meeting with the widely held negative view of the broederbond/Afrikaners/boers/whites held by his party?

Because CR is a seasoned diplomat no matter how you guys revile him.

Dude, it's pointless engaging with MyBB's very own black twitter.
Don't even waste your breath ;)

As for Cyril's visit...good for him.

But I thought the ANC formulated policy, not the president. So you mean it is just seasoned manipulation masqueraded as sincerity?

It is something similar to being Mmusi as token president for DA to pull in votes - all parties are more or less similar. :-)
