Midrand restaurants - what is happening?

Within last year, following restaurants shut down their business as far as I know

Spiceburg @ Carlswald lifestyle shopping
Thava @ Carlswald decor centre
Pizza-e-vino @ Carlswald
Forgot name but some pizza place @ sanridge square, some cuba lounge seems to have replaced it although as of last week, that also seems to have closed.

Looks like Carlswald Lifestyle charge too much rent.

Running a restaurant seems brutal. I can hardly think of a non-franchise restaurant that lasts five years.

I spent much time calibrating the chef at my local Indian place to get just the right amount of chilli into the Chicken Tikka Masala and they shut down the next month.

hmm - looks like carlswald decor centre also might be charging too much rent. Pizza vino & Thava - both were good restaurants in my opinion.
 
Piza-e-vino opened up at Kyalami corner - seems more like a change in location for them.

Quite a few restaurants closed down at Kyalami on Main too - Mi Vami / Calistos, Milhaus, Bolshoi. Sign of the times to be honest - its tough out there

In 2013 or somewhere there I had to meet a client there for lunch. I noticed they had an electronic sign board under the Carlswald logo, that would print quotes. I noticed that several of the quotes were from L. Ron. Hubbard, so that made me do some digging. This was a while ago, but there was some evidence online that the place was indeed owned/run/managed by people with connections to the cult. If I remember where I saw this I'll send you the link via PM.

I try as best as I can to avoid Anything related to Scientology, those people are evil, and their organization is even more evil.

Educate me here: why are scientologists worthy of boycott? I know they trick people into paying money to be religious, but it’s nothing more harmful than a fool and his money, right?

ok, lets hope I dont get flamed for this, but here goes.

some of their policies on families and children are really sick:sick:
some of their business practices are even worse imo, what LRH said about fair game gets me so mad, just an evil organization imo.

they are just a evil organization, and plenty of "free" Scientologists exist already.
I have no issue with those guys, they dont bother anybody with their beliefs, but DavidM version of Scientology, just makes me sick.
