Just thought i'd hear some thoughts from the local formites ...
I know some people are AMD/Intel Fans, so looking for informative answers.

Googled reviews, but most of them are 2-3 years old. These CPU's are similarly priced, was wondering what the state of amd vs intel is, havnt kept up to date :o

Pentium Dual Core E2180 2.0GHz 800Mhz FSB 1M Cache, EM64T, XD, EIST, Conroe

VS

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Dual Core (2300MHz,65W,L2 Cache 1MB,64 Bit,AM2)

As much as I have an Amd X2, which I love to bits and I love AMD. The Pentiun Dual Core is far more of a powerful processor (wait for AMD fanboi's to scream at me)

intel all the way

games and general computer stuff is faster

im not intel or amd, i do love intel but only because its so much faster than my old 3800x2

even amd fanboi's cannot tell you with a straight face that amd is the better choice now, they would talking rubbish

they know it and we would know it

in saying that buying amd would not be a bad thing, the cpu's run well do what you need just not as quickly as intel does :)

I'm an AMD fan, but I can't even recommend an AMD for performance or even price. :( I have a Pentium E2200 now.

Wink... Wink... ;)
Got a E2160 very happy with it!

Ye and with little to no effort you should be able to get most of the E2** series to 3.0GHz with little or no added vcore.

Just rember to get a good cooler! although I know of people getting 3Ghz on stock coolers - check my facts first :p
The Zalman/Scythe ones are pretty cheap these days, and look good too!
