hey guys, im just curious how many people here use laser jammers on their cars??

Know of a few people who do. Mixed reaction to them though.
 
yeah its really good against pigs who like to trap on roads that are like 80 and which should be 100, also on freeways which go to 80 or 100 when they should be 120
 
I don't - but my uncle has has one of each his cars ... he says they're amazing!
 
Illegal. If the cop figures out wtf is going on and stops you then you've got serious trouble. Defeating the ends of justice etc.
 
i also here they are amazing because they stop u from getting those fines doing 91kmh in a 80 zone or 115 in 100 zone!!
 
lol a lot of the time u dont realise u going over a bit!! and you get all these R200/R300 fines
 
I've heard of ones that bounce the signal back and screw up the calibration on the camera...the dude then has to then re-calib the thing...

Is dat true?
 
Can anyone tell me this... why do they differ in price so much? R500 - R3500?

Also... any defenses against the lines? I know I'm going to get in trouble in the new car.... I don't like going hell fast, and most of my fines are about R100-R200, but it gets annoying with 15 of them outstanding.
 
no they dont have to recalib thing it only messes up the camera temporarily! once you are out of range its fine again

I think thats how the laser jammer works, but it doesn't screw-up the calibration, it just screws up his reading for your car.

The R500 ones are laser detectors ... they beep and flash and lights when they pick up the signal. It looks like a Garmin and can be popped in any car with ease. It doesn't send a signal back and you need to brake.

The R3500 one is a laser jammer. It's beeps as well, but at the same time it sends BACK a signal to the camera that jams the signal so they need a 2nd reading. It's installed in the car and can't be swapped from car to car very easily.
 
I'm trying to browse sites from work and get 'criminal activity' and 'phishing & frad' catagories on most the sites :P
 
Right...I need the R3500 one, I wonder if they provide output to other devices, I'd like to get a PC in the car, connected to the OBII and to a GPS, this will just add to the toys.
 
the problem with auto style is that u have to fit them urself and the jammers they have give a jamming reading on the gun but te stealth ones dont, they give an error reading!

and the stealth have 2 options, one with park distance controll and one without!!
 
Maybe I wasn't clear on this.
Speeding = R500 fine
Laser jammer = Court + bail + car impounded

The speedtrap pulses a laser beam and measures the time that the signal of each pulse takes to return. From each pulse they get one distance measurement. From the distance measurements the device works out the speed.

If the pulse returns too fast or the speed difference between say pulses 1-2 and 2-3 is too great then it discards the reading. i.e. gets jammed.

No permanent damage/recalib.
