Anyone have an idea when MTNSP are getting these? I've asked at a few MTN shops and just get blank stares :(

The salesmen at these shops don't know anything. I sometimes wonder how they get their jobs.

I seen on 1 website that the 6110 comes with Route 66 preloaded, no extra costs for voice navigation. Just pop in the memory card and you're ready to go. Good move, Nokia, now why the heck didin't you do that with the N95 and E90?

How much is the 6110 deal with Route66 preloaded?

I Resent that statement. Yes some dont know whats going on but dont generalise. we get emails telling us when stock is coming of a particular handset. So if we have not received info about it clearly we cant tell you. Unfortunately we have yet to receive info on the nokia 6110 or 3110:(

I got an ad in the local newspaper (Centurion) on Friday last week where-in MTNSP advertises the 6110 navigator for free on a MyCall 100 (approx R165/month).

I also heard from someone that he seen the ad in the paper. Hmmm, I wonder howcome the Mtnsp shops don't know about it. Maybe Reaper can shed some light om this.

Thanks Reaper :) I'm still looking to get one and was going to chase it up again this week but as you're on the case I'll just wait for your reply!

My contract is due for renewal in September & I was thinking of getting the Nokia N95, until I saw this 6110 Navigator. It is lower specked, but what the heck, at least it is free on the MyCall 100. If voice navigation is included, even better. :D

Thanks Reaper, just keep us informed and post any details you get like the cost of voice navigation, and whether maps for SA are included. I think there's a lot of us looking forward to this phone.

hello i have a 6110 navigator.I have used voice navigation a few times and there is no data transfer if you check the log afterwards.I have turned a-gps off(assisted gps uses a small amount of data to help you lock on quicker via gprs) .So it only uses true gps with the built in reciever. The phone comes with a 512 mb card with SA map pre-loaded
so you dont need to download any.Am very impressed with it as i do quite a lot of fishing so when you find submerged structure you can make a land mark helping you to find it again and again.Build quality is pretty good aswell the phone feel quite solid.
Had it for about 2 weeks and have not had any crashes or hangs on it,so i am well impressed.I am on MTN aswell.I made a plan to swop out my upgrade for it at a diff supplier.Thank you again anythingc was well impressed with the service levels.

If you own a ford fiesta with the integrated bluetooth this phone has compatibility issues. It will pair fine but you cant hear anything when you make or recieve a call.I have tried a Nokia N73 and that works fine so hopefully a future firmware revision will sort out the issues. As they are both bt v 2.0 and symbian OS

Cheers Dennis

Thanks for the mini-review Dennis! That's pretty much why I'm interested in this phone, solid and functional without being overkill for my needs.

Does the phone come with Route 66 loaded with SA maps? There's no extra costs or subscribtions to use full voice navigation, right?

My phone came with route66 and a local(SA) map installed. When i have used voice navigation there has been no data transfer if you check the log afterwards.

Thanks for the info Dennis.

I am due for an upgrade next month & I will rather go for this one & not the N95.

Any Info as to what dealers have stock? Went to a MTNSP in town - Strand St, and he did not even have any info on the phone yet, though the phone is being advertised.
