Immigrated or emigrated?

Immigrate means to come into a country, emigrate means to leave a country. In this case, I think you mean whites have left the country, which means emigrated.
 
Well end of next month it will be at least 1 000 002 (or 800 002 depending on which number you believe.)

After my wife and I were attacked outside our house 2 weeks ago we have decided to emigrate. Its just too dangerous to live here anymore.

Here is some food for thought. If 20% of the white population have left South Africa over the last 12 years how many will still be around when your children finish school?

I first have to get a gf, then get married (if we are compatible) and then have kids (if viable), so I guess that by that time there will be few whites in SA. It will probably be very zimbabwelicious around here...

I think the figures may represent people that have emigrated officially. Most of my family have also emigrated but just left on holiday visas and havent returned yet. thats why I also believe that the official emigration stats are quite understated. By how much is anybodys guess.

True, if you want to accurately gauge emigration you need to look at the other side of the stats, i.e. the stats from the countries people are emigrating to, because those will be accurate, the ones given to Home Affairs locally are unlikely to be.
 
8 highly skilled people in the IT industry, that work with me are leaving for Australia. I'm still trying to convience my wife :(
 
The less and less us skilled whities are, the more and more money there is left to be shared among us few skilled whities left in this country.

I have been upping my rate every 3 months for the last year and with no complaints from my agents.

Please more skilled ppl leave, by the end of 2010 I'll be coining it
 
Just be careful your wealth isnt "re-distributed" to the masses somewhere along the line.
 
My wife has an offshore account, and every month we push all our extra cash into that account..

The masses can come they are going to get nathing.... hehehe

Another thing I'm going to do is to over extend my home loan and transfer all the money to my wife overseas account too and then this country can F4cking rot for all I care.

That's one way of looking at it, but the bottom line is those 8 jobs will most likely be filled by less experienced graduates who will also emigrate in a couple of years time. Productivity will suffer for a while whilst those are being brought up to standard...
We have already started importing IT skills from India and Pakistan...Gvt and corporates should realise that our IT skills are in demand world wide and start giving more bursaries/learnerships to IT students to close the gap.

I cannot argue that point, though it's still a huge loss to the company. Finding replacements isn't going to be easy and getting the company skills into place takes time.

Imagine if that analogy was applied to every murder, "One more job placement" or "One less statistic on the unemployment list". I suppose it's a little drastic, but silver linings cannot be found when the cloud has burst.
