Hi, We are using Mega 100WR router and want to use 2 ISP accounts for local and international access on 2 seperate PC's connected via wireless to the modem. I read through quite a few threads, but honestly, the information is overwhelming and to me, confusing and need some help here ...

possible solution

Hi there tdevil

go into the router setup and configure it to bridging mode, then if you are using winxp
create a new "dialup" connection entering your ISP details like username and password
do this on both computers, so when you want to use the local account you just "dial" whichever account you want to use on whch ever computer. thats possibly the simplest way.

bridging mode

Thanks for the reply:)

Is it possible to use a dialup on only one of the pc's to use the one ISP account for the international access while the other stays connected to the other ISP for local access without having to use dialup?

This modem is actually a very nice one which can be in router mode (where the modem makes the connection) and in bridge mode (where the client pc does a dialup connection) simultanously.

I was very suprised when I helped my dad setup his router.

What I suggest is to leave it as is (in router mode) and just setup another connection on the other pc.

Thanks!

I did just that, set up broadband connection on my pc without changing router settings while still connected to the account for local access and have both connections on pppoe active now.

Yep, discovered the same thing on Sunday: without touching the Mega100WR's router settings, I left our ISP details on the router, then added a PPPoE connection on our PC's with an Axxess voucher, quite painless. That is, except that the Axxess prepaid connection feels slower than our normal connection. Will test more once our cap resets in 2 days
:D
