Guys with SP1 for vista x64 please advise

its off usenext so i cannot link it

yea i thought 5 gig was a bit much but maybe that an iso of vista 64 bit with sp1 already loaded in it or something

i downloaded the Vista SP1,RC1 5-language stand alone pack, from MS download center site for Vista 64-bit and it was between 750mb and 800mb. The offical public SP will be launched mid-March. the RC1 made my windows a bit more stabile and there was a few nitty-gritty ****e that it improved...i dont think the Official SP will differ that much though.. the SP with all the supported languages is gonna be between 5gig-10gig....ouch...

hope this helps!!!!:D:D:D

1.13 GB (1,218,154,496 bytes) Windows Vista Service Pack 1 - x64 and x86.

Leaked version apparantly.

On 90% and I'll let you know if it's legit.

OMF... if someone has it, I'll give you R50 for the 32 bit RTM... Not a hell downloading that

The standalone install for 64bit is around 726MB and the ISO should be 3.56GB.

Thats as far as I can tell from some torrents and other downloads, but there are a few different sizes. The multi language installs are bigger, I think 5GB is too much though.

Oh and btw killa thanks for encouraging me to get more ram.

Picked up 2 more gigs for about R800 and it makes a HUGE difference running Vista64.

Everything is buttery smooth and after installing this SP it should be even smoother.

Vusta 64 is really as stable as a rock if you have the hardware.

I've got the 32bit RTM if you're in Cape Town, otherwise it probably wouldn't work. I'm sure a lot of people will have it where ever you are.

Its only 434MB standalone, but I've got the Vista RTM DVD too. Otherwise you have to dl the full ISO.

In Northcliff at the moment, only coming back to Cape Town next weekend :p Maybe then.

Standalone installer for sp1 x64 rtm is 743mb. And it's legit as far as I have been able to find out. Been running it for nearly a week no issues.

Is it worth installing these versions of SP1? I feel more comfortable with the offical release

my 1.1 gig download corrupt ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

the search goes on

the x86 version is everywhere but not the x64 bit

If you do a clean install of Vista x64 and have all current updates. Then there is a registary change that you can do that will let you download it through windows update. (Thats what I did)

On average through Windows update it will be about 500mb but standalone installer is about +-750MB. However you should know that both SP1 REFRESH 2 and RTM is the same build

Not a problem, I'll PM you with all the details. Same goes for anyone else if they want it
