Hey Friends

We have been playing with the idea of a 2GB Local Only ADSL account with OpenBrowse 192k.

This comes after a forumite made a suggestion a few weeks back.

The account would allow you 2GB's of local bandwidth, on the SAIX backbone, and will include OpenBrowse 192k for around R99 per month.

Is this a product you would be interested in?

Kind Regards
MrBEEP

I think maybe its better if its IS local. Cheaper due the fact its only going to be used for browsing. But I dont think it will be possible cause IS sell in bulk and not per GB. But it sounds cool

Hi Friends

We already offer an IS local only 10GB with OpenBrowse 192k for R130.

This account would be our entry level account, and would be packaged with OpenBrowse :)

I think, 10 gig saix local for 1 gig saix international...mmmmmmm that would mean that my 10 gig saix account with openweb will yield 100 gig saix local access!! Now that is an idea, c'mon MrBEEP, make it an early xmas for me ol buddy ol pal

Not that it would interest me, but I think your pricing should be much sharper.

Axxess sells SAIX local only at R10/Gig. Your 192k Openweb is R60pm. Anyone can D.I.Y. the setup for R80pm. Giving that you are bundling products, your price should be south of that.

This is assuming the Openbrowse is working for the remainder of the month.

I don't see the point, what's the deal with using the SAIX local only if the IS local only is a fraction of the price and sometimes the local includes international as well.

The only bonus would be using the SAIX newsgroups which are clearly superior. Then 2GB's doesn't go very far.

Could you or the person who suggested it explain the target market for the product?

Precisely why I want saix local...grrrrrr *rub hands* come here you pretty news server you

2GB on SAIX news is nothing! You will use it up so fast!

2GB's of local bandwidth, on the SAIX backbone, and will include OpenBrowse 192k for around R99 per month.

Doesn't make sense really, for approximately R40 more you can just buy 2GB of international bandwidth and do whatever you want, no speed or downloading restrictions.

Hey Friends

I really appreciate the feedback!

I do not think, based on the comments received thus far, this would be a viable offer.

Let us see what we can can up with....

Kind regards

This is a result of probably the most complicated billing landscape in DSL worldwide. We have ISP's coming up with options that are unhead of anywhere in the world just because of the monopoly we have.

Always appreciated to come up with newer options but it seems people have to be so clued up when it comes to packages that your target market is so small and even then you only get the minority subscribing to your "package". it's a tough business that's all I can say.

I would definietly be interested in purchasing the product....

Guys plz stop saying that 2 gig is too little and that it will be used up very quickly....Rather say if you would purchase the product or not!!!

I think as a VERY cheap openbrowse package, I would buy something like 500mb local with openbrowse, just so after my Telkom cap I can switch over and still browse internationally. But this would have to be very cheap like R50 or something.

I think they are saying it is too little so they would not purchase the product ;)
