i am having a problem.
i have now 3hdd thats working fine
vista on one ,xp on one, and again xp on another
So i can boot from vista boot loader to 2nd xp but the third xp give me ntldr error.

Now i know i must add another section from this in there..take a look

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

in bold is probably the second boot drive which is Edrive
My other xp is on a d drive
So how do i add in another section that will work:confused:

are they on diffierent physical disks? Or different partitions?

Does the boot menu currently load with three options or two?

Does the boot menu currently load with three options or two?

I added another one and named it xp1
So i have vista and xp and xp1 in the boot menu
i can load vista and xp,but xp1 tells me ntldr error
i figure i need to change the boot.ini file in xp so it can select which xp to load.i dont know what to put there.
For example the boot loader comes up..i then select xp and then it gives me 2 options(which one to load)this seems like an idea ..yes;)

Shouldnt the second one be:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(2)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

OR

multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

hey i edited the boot.ini file on the xp that works and added the second one you gave
multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

I restarted and now its fixed..tripleboots properly.
thanks for the advice and it did work....ooooohhhaaaarrraaaooohhhhhaaaaaa
Should sticky this to in the h and s section...
thanks again

ps..we capetownians are freekin clever hey..lol

My pc crashed and i edited the boot .ini files again just like before but now i cant boot the 3rd drive again...weird i did the exact thing.
