Download and Install Garena!!! :p

http://gg-game.com/product/

It's the easiest way to play - U don't even need to use BattleNET, when u install this, it puts all internet servers/games underneath the LAN option, asif you were at a LAN

Quote from Site

"Garena turns the internet into a huge cyber cafe, which allows players to connect and play games with each other in such a way as they play in LAN. "

I am posting this to get more players to join the ZA room.

It's easy to use, just read 5 mins of the quick and easy getting started page.

IT REALLY IS SUPER EASY GUYS - C'MON, JUST TRY IT!

oh, and it's FREE!

I've found that hamachi does work well, but can give some bad latency at times.
I've never tried this "Garena" before, I'll test it out sometime :)

Hmm looks promising. Much easier to configure it seems than hamachi, and maybe worth a shot, if more peeps show intrest. I'm keen... especially for some local Rainbow Six Vegas 2 action :)

well look - its okay to pirate crap games :D
rofl:D

I might give CSS and COD4 a shot.

DotA...yeah right.

Hamachi messes with the network connection a lot imo. I hope this will be better.

Uploaded to UUnet here.

OK. I played a quick COD4 and I can confirm it works....but I played in a Euro room i.e. ping 400.

Keeper: Where is this SA room you're talking about?

And can one play games other than those listed?

i think it's in the International Folder (Well, with DotA anyway) - No SA support, hence the reason i started this thread :p

Garena is very easy to setup. thanks for uploading it!

I havent tried COD4 yet, only DotA...my COD4 is throwing an error, too lazy to re-install:p

I'm sure they will start adding more games soon, as this is new technology AFAIK....what other games do you need? LOL....well, maybe Crysis though....

Still, i found it to be a Good Setup - No Mess, No Fuss, and good enough Pings to play, with no Stupid BattleNet LVL Rules...

Would be intresting to see if it will make use of your local cap while your playing a game, although I doubt it, seeing as you connect internationally to your GG account. Still would like to test it out :)

As it is no. With port forwarding enabled on all the PCs and RS installed, maybe.

The main problem is, that you need the server for the UDP hole-punching.;)

OK, stupid question but...for this to work OK, someone here in SA with a fat pipe would have to host the games to get a proper ping, right? Do we have someone like that? I don't think a 384 line could host a proper COD4, or am I mistaken in that?

Oh, and how about we set a certain time+day for this so that all the SA okes play at the same time....assume we can get someone to host.

Yeah we would need someone with a 4MB line to host the games that we want to play. If I recall correctly, before the SGS COD4 servers went online, someone hosted a 11 player game on his 4MB line and the lag for the rest of us was minimal :)

But for 384k and 512k users, only 2 - 3 peeps at the most I'd reckon. The main reason why I want to give garena a go is for RBSV 2, there is nothing like a good CO-OP terrorist hunt game :D
