18200 shots :(

18200? That's nothing - are you going to get it repaired?

If you stay near the coast where the environment is humid (and corrosive), 18200 is a lot, especially for 3-4 year old camera.

Hope its not that bad - I've done close to 30k now on my original 400D and that's only about 18 months old iirc.

40D maybe? It's not a heck of a lot more, and looks like it's only getting cheaper.
It is for someone in SA :( - 400D: R6,399.00, 450D: R8,299.00, 40D: R11,999.00 (body only SA Camera Prices)

40D body from B&H, shipping with UPS included for $1058.45 = R8,288.66

A good deal, even at the horrific exchange rate.

the 40d is lovely but i just need a replacement really
but i'm considering the 40d (it's just so sexy :o)

lol at d700, koffiejunkie
if i bought that i would need to make money with it (it's not a hobby camera for me)
