Funding shortfall ‘jeopardises’ Sentech

They should chuck DVB-T and just go DVB-S, just too expensive to maintain all the crap.
 
The problem is that DVB-S is currently monopolized by monochoice in this country.

I find this laughable, as they were one of the first SA companies to implement a full on AA policy with respect to recruitment back in 1995. But it seems what goes around does come around, and I thought people were joking when they said that Sentech was worse to work for than Telkom.

Efforts to provide wireless high-speed internet access to consumers were cut back, and its consumer offerings would soon be phased out completely

im sure they have a bloated overhead structure with a million administrators, which is why they continue to exist with nothing to do. close them down, noone would notice they r gone anyway

Now this is the sentiment I've had surrounding Sentech for the past 8 yrs or so that I've known of thier existance. To me they jus seem lyk a hollow shell thats got a very expensive shell. I'm not sure, but I do believe that if govt asked (private) business to handle sum of the chores it's tasked Sentech with, if we wouldn't be better off.

You know, the R950m they need for the digital migration is a figure that should a private contractor be handed this project, it would be easier for them to access funding for this project, it needn't be a parliment/MP a*s-kissing issue.

Just an opinion!
